Hi there guys..Missed me? Hehe..Sorry for being off the scene..I was outstation for my wedding *wink* and now that I’m back, we’re all set to rock the scene again ![]()
Straight to the point, New Folder.exe (in some cases it may appear as autorun.exe or similar) is the latest nuisance hijack which have knocked the doors of many security masters and boo them before spreading. This hijack spreads so fast that the moment you plug in your external storage to an infected computer, it will be copied there and the same goes when you plug in the infected storage device to another computer. Worst of all, it’s hardly removable (until you came here)..hehe..You delete the file, it keeps on coming back no matter what you do..Among the infected fields in your computer will be the Task Manager, Registry Editor, Folder Options and Run in start menu..It also uses your processor resources and this slows down your computer drastically..If you detected these problems, then you came to the right page..
==The Solution==
- Download the following file:
SDFix - Extract the files to a location (preferrably C:\)
- Restart your computer in Safe Mode
- Hit the RunThis.cmd
Note:
If this error message is displayed when running SDFix:
The command prompt has been disabled by your administrator.
Press any key to continue . . .
Please goto Start Menu > Run > then copy and paste the following line:
%systemdrive%\SDFix\apps\swreg IMPORT
%systemdrive%\SDFix\apps\Enable_Command_Prompt.reg
Press OK then run SDFix again
If the Command Prompt window flashes on then off again on XP or Windows2000
Please goto Start Menu > Run > then copy and paste the following line:
%systemdrive%\SDFix\apps\FixPath.exe /Q
Reboot and then run SDFix again
If SDFix still doesnt run check the %comspec% variable
Goto Start Menu > Right click My Computer > click properties > click Advanced
Click Environment Variables and check that the ComSpec variable points to cmd.exe
%SystemRoot%\system32\cmd.exe
SDFix uses ERUNT to create a registry backup in this location:
%SystemRoot%\ERUNT\SDFix\
Well, hope this helps to those who needs it..Please leave comments..Thanks in advance..Till the next tip..God Bless..
